Top Banana!

We won the Top Banana award!  The Top Banana is given to the class with the BEST cafeteria behavior.  Ms. Brady came by our classroom today to hand off the award.  We knew we were good but now we know we're pretty awesome!

Pizza Party

The pizza was a big hit thanks to you (for ordering pizza) and Marco's Pizza (for giving us the pizza)!

Surprise!!!

Our class won the Marco's Pizza Night fundraiser and so we will be getting a pizza party this Friday.  They will be bringing us cheese pizza for our snack!  Thank you to everyone who ordered.  A gift certificate for cheesy bread is in your child's folder today.

We finished our unit on interdependence and we made different projects to help spread the word about the otters!  We are all about helping to protect the otters.

Terrariums

Our terrariums have plants and today we added earthworms!  We each picked out 2 worms.  Some of them even got named like Earthy.  We are enjoying learning about environments and interdependence between animals and plants.

Bat Night

Join 1st grade in an optional field trip on Oct. 2 at 6:45.  We'll meet at the Napa Auto Parts Store parking lot to watch the bats fly from underneath the I35 bridge.  Napa Auto Parts is on the access road off of I35 and McNeil.  Hope to see you there!  It's a fun family event to kick off our study of animals and environment.

Self Managers

Congratulations to our newest self managers!  Look how excited they are for their nifty badges.

Curriculum Night

Don't forget Curriculum Night is Wednesday at 6:30!  Look for your "invitation" in your child's folder!

Centers

We are learning new 1st grade centers.  Look at us focusing and being self-managers!

Library Day!

Our class has library on Wednesday at 2:00.  Please make sure your child brings his/her books in order to avoid late notices.

Tomorrow is Open House! I can't wait to meet my new firsties!  Students with the last name of A-M please come from 5:30-6:15.  Students with the last name of N-Z please come from 6:15-7:00.  Bring your supplies and get yourself prepared for the first day of school on August 26!
